We are excited to introduce the second of the EWB Toronto Professional Chapter’s 2020 Kumvana Fellows!

Cecilia Amoafowaa

Cecilia is the CEO of Cees Foods, a peanut butter and palm oil company that is giving women in the North of Ghana opportunities to generate alternative sources of income. She is also a High School English Teacher and advocate of sexual and reproductive rights amongst the teenagers at her school.

In addition to her work, Cecilia is an author and has a personal blog. The blog is quite empowering and contains inspirational interviews, beautiful poetry, and short stories. It was nationally selected twice for Best Blog, in 2015 and 2016.

While in Toronto, Cecilia is looking to build knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, food processing and packaging, teaching methods, youth empowerment, empowerment of women, publishing, and graduate studies in Canada.

She is looking to connect with organizations such as food processing companies, high school educators, publishing firms, youth activists, sexual and reproductive health organizations, organizations empowering women, spoken word groups and artists, and graduate schools offering English Literature.

Cecilia wants to share her knowledge about women entrepreneurs and educators in Ghana and her cultural working experiences of the Ghanaian people.
